The item I want is sold out. Are you getting any more in?
We usually have a single piece of a particular product in a particular design. That is because of the unique nature of our products i.e they are all handmade. A product that has been sold out is usually not available immediately. However, we would request you to send us an e-mail mentioning the Code and we will let you know a tentative date when that particular product might be available.


Can I change my order?
You need to immediately notify us of the change if you would like to change your order. As a security measure, normally we send an e-mail after you place your order to confirm whether it is you who has placed the order. And once we receive your confirmation, we ship the order. Once the order is dispatched and leaves our warehouse, it is impossible to change the order.

Where is my order?
Once we ship your order through our carrier, you will receive a mail in your inbox with your air bill tracking number. You can track the journey of your order using that tracking number through the carrier’s website.

How do I return an item (s) to you?
We have a liberal no questions asked return policy. Merchandize can be returned to the nearest ShalinCraft representative within 30 days of receiving the order. We also make it extremely easy to send your returns. You do not need to send them all the way to India. You can ship the returns to our country representative nearest to you. Do you have a printed catalog?
Due to the unique nature of our products we do not maintain a printed catalog. We regularly update the website as fresh products and designs arrive in our stocks from the artisans. Of course, we do have a catalog for bulk buyers which is available on
request.

Do you have a shop?
We have no physical shops/branches anywhere in the world except India. We stock our entire inventory in our warehouse with us. Inspecting our stocks in possible but we would request you to inform us of your proposed visit at least 2-3 days in advance.

Can I contact you by phone?
We prefer you to contact us via e-mail - this enables us to respond to all your queries quickly and efficiently. Corresponding via e-mail has a lower cost to us than a call centre, and we have built this lower cost into our prices passing the savings on to you. What currency do you use?
All prices listed on our website are in US dollars ($). However, you can pay us in your local currency if you are using your credit card. You credit card statement will have to details of your payment converted from US dollars to your local currency.

Is it safe to place my order using my credit card online?

When will I be charged?
When you reach the final billing page and press 'Pay Now', our online payment gateway,
CCAvenue, we will immediately contact your bank/card issuer for authorization to take payment from your account. Once payment is authorized, you will receive an e-mail within a few minutes confirming your order, and payment will be debited from your account shortly afterwards.
If the payment is not authorized by the bank or card issuer, you will receive an e-mail within a few minutes advising you of the reason why.

I am having problems with your site

I am having trouble adding more than one item in my basket
Due to the unique nature of our products; most of our products are available in a single unit only. We might have similar items in stock but never identical pieces. Of course, there are certain items where we have multiple pieces available in our inventory. Accordingly, when you place an order for those items you will be able to add more than one item to your basket.

I am told that my card has expired, even though the expiry date is in the future.
This occurs when the date set on your own PC is wrong. Please check that the date set in your PC is correct (double click on the time at the bottom right of your screen) and then try placing your order again.

When I place my order, a blank screen comes us showing ‘Code not found’
This problem occurs when the product has been sold and the image has not been replaced by us on the website. This is a very rare problem. If you ever encounter this problem immediately
write back to us with the details. We will let you all details regarding its availability and offer you a certain percentage as discount the next time you place an order.

I’m getting lots of pop-up ads when viewing your site
ShalinCraft does not endorse any pop-up advertising that appears during your visit to our site. This intrusion is commonly known as spy ware and we recommend removing it by using a anti- spy ware tools which are freely available online.

Order Tracking

How can I track my order?
Once your order is shipped after we receive your confirmation, you will receive an e-mail with your air bill tracking number/code. You can track the transit of your order using that tracking number through the carriers/shippers website till it reaches you.

Which courier company do you use?
We ship our retail orders all over the globe through UPS and DHL. In some cases, where our wholesale buyers have existing account with some other company, we ship through them.

Your courier's website says Air bill No. xxxxxxxxxxxxx Does Not Exist'
If you are presented with the message it probably means that the courier's system has not yet been updated. We would urge you to wait for some time and try again. Most of the times, the shipment information is immediately updated on the courier’s website.

Question about a Product

Will you be getting any more of product (code xyz...)?
You can place orders for multiple pieces of the same product if they are available in our inventory at that point of time and clearly mentioned on our website. Due to the nature of our products, it is very difficult to procure multiple pieces of the same item. In most cases, we have only one item in a particular design. If there is more than one available, you have the option of adding multiple pieces in your shopping basket. Since all our products are handmade, you might find two very similar products but not identical ones.

I need more information about the product?
Please write to us with the Code (s) and we will get back to you with detailed information of the product within 36 hours. The response time might be a little longer if you send us the request on a Saturday. You can write to us at

I saw this item in an advert but cannot find it on your site
This happens when the product is already sold and has been replaced by another product on the website. It can also happen when the product is temporarily out of stock or has been discontinued. Very often we try to procure in-demand items and take repeat orders from our customers. We would advise you to keep checking the site to see if your desired item becomes available again. You can also write to us with a brief description of the product you are looking for and we will contact you once it is available in our inventory once again.

I saw this product on a celebrity, can you get it for me
That will depend on the nature and availability of the product. Usually, we do not do ‘custom requests’, but whether your requirement can be fulfilled or not will depend on the type of product and its immediate availability. We would request you to let us know all relevant details of the product. Once we receive your query, we will get back to you with all details regarding their availability.

Can you tell me where else I can buy this product?
Please be advised that cannot tell you where else our products can be purchased. As a general rule, the best option for you in that case would be to search the internet for similar products.

Question about Delivery charges and destinations

How much do I have to pay shipping charges?
On some very special occasions, such as the Christmas and the festive season, we make all shipments free for a limited period. This year too, has been no exception, and all orders received during the festive season will be shipped free. There are no hidden charges. How long does it take for my order to arrive?
We have one of the fastest delivery times. We ship through UPS all over the world. Normal transit time is 3 to 6 days from the date you place your order except for items that need to be customized. In case you are placing an order for a custom sari, lehenga choli or a custom salwar kurta, delivery period will be more.


Do you deliver to my country?
We deliver almost everywhere in the world. If you want to know if we deliver to your country or not, send us an e-mail mentioning your country.

Do I have to pay customs/import duties?
Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches its destination country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the customer. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be since they keep on changing from time to time and vary widely from country to country. But in most cases, there are no customs/import duties levied on ShalinCraft shipments. But at the same time we have found that about 1% to 1½% of our shipments do attract customs duties. We are probably the only company where there is a provision to refund customs duties. You can have a look at our customs duties refund policy
here. We do not refund customs duties in case of wholesale purchases.

Can you leave the delivery at an agreed hiding place?
No, Delivery can only be made to the address supplied when placing the order and requires a signature on receipt. We would seriously dissuade you to request for delivery at a pre-determined place since that might involve delivery problems later on.

Can someone else sign for my delivery?
Yes, anyone at the specified delivery address can sign for the goods. We would also request you to keep track of the movement of your order(s) with your tracking number (once your order is dispatched from our warehouse) till they reach the destination address. This prevents any confusion later on. We would also request you to send us a confirmatory e-mail once you receive your order.

Do you deliver to PO Box addresses and military addresses?
We would request to not to mention your shipping address as a PO Box address or any military address. Our shippers (UPS) have faced a lot of problems specifically delivering to these two types of address. If possible, do send us a non- PO Box/non-military shipping address. We would also request you, if possible, not to send us a business shipping address. Our experience suggests that residential addresses have a lower chance of attracting customs/import charges.

Can I change my Order?
Yes, you can change your order subject to availability of the items you would like to replace your order with. We would like you to inform us of any changes in your order immediately after you place your order. Once we receive your order, we do not ship it that very day. Instead, we send a confirmatory e-mail with links to image (s) of the product you have ordered. We ship your order the day we receive your confirmation that you have indeed placed an order for the items mentioned. Once the order is dispatched and leaves our warehouse, it is impossible to change the order.


Can I cancel my order and opt for a refund?

I’m not going to be in when you deliver my parcel. What will happen?
We would request you to send us an e-mail after you place your order regarding your non-availability, if you are away for a few days. In that case, we will ship you the order once you come back. However, if you are not available at the destination address for a short period of time, the carrier will leave you a card informing you that delivery has been attempted. On this card will be instructions on how to obtain your parcel. We would request you to immediately get in touch with our shippers and obtain the parcel.


I need to change the delivery address of my order?
Immediately after placing your order, please instruct us of changes, if any, to your delivery address. Once your shipment is in transit, it will not be possible for us to amend your address.

My order is a gift for someone. Can I add a message to it?
We are a site dedicated to shopping and gifting. While placing your order you will find columns where you can type your message if it’s a gift for someone. We will ship your order with your message on a handmade card to the recipient.

I need to return an item?
You can return an item to our country representatives within 30 days of taking delivery of the shipment. It is extremely easy to send your returns. You do not need to send them all the way to India. When will you refund me?
Once we receive a confirmation from our representative that the returned goods have been received in undamaged condition, we will send out your refund within 2 working days. The amount is usually available in your account within 3 to 4 business days. We will also send you a copy of your refund invoice for your records.

When will I receive my replacement?
You can opt for a replacement if you do not opt for a refund. If you opt for a replacement, you will be charged the shipping charges for the new item you choose. We will send you a separate link through which you can pay for the shipping charges. You will receive your replacement within 4 to 6 days after your replaced order is dispatched.

Part of my order is missing?
Regrettably, mistakes can happen. If you have received you order and an item is missing, please email
customercare@shalincraft-india.com quoting your order number and the missing item and we will investigate the matter further and try to resolve the mistake quickly.

Do I have to pay for return postage?
Yes, you have to pay for return postage to our representative nearest to you. This would also reduce your shipping costs. We recommend that you send the parcel using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods. If the item you received is faulty or is not what you originally ordered,
please e-mail customercare@shalincraft-india.com quoting your order number, your name and address, details of the product. We will then advise on how to proceed with the return.

Why have you not refunded the shipping charges?
Shipping charges are non refundable unless you have received a wrong or faulty item from us.
Please note:
-- Shipping charges are non refundable so you will be refunded the full value of the items returned less the shipping charge.
-- If a discount was applied to your original order, the amount refunded will be adjusted to allow for the   revised order value and appropriate discount level.
